American Dry Flies and How to Fish Them was a privately printed book of 500 done by The Anglers Club of NY in 1931 and written by Edgar Burke, MD.

In this little book, Burke explains “When we say that Theodore Gordon was the ‘father of dry fly fishing in America’ the statement must not be taken to mean that he invented fishing with a floating flies. …so far is know, he was the first American dry fly fisher. He was also a skillful fly tyer, who taught his art to a whole school of successors, some of whom are still practicing his teachings in the Catskills.”
