Fly Tying with Bruce Pollock

Our Fly Tyers series continues with Bruce Pollock. Sunday - November 26th, 2023

Bruce wasn’t exposed to fly fishing until his early 30’s when a few friends gave him a membership in the local TU chapter. A short while later he attended his first Hacklebarney TU Chapter ( NJ ) meeting and his introduction into fly fishing began. It was a fly tying class given by this same chapter that started his development as a tyer.

He credits many for improving his tying skill but puts these individuals at the top of his list: Dick Hepper, Jim Pruding, Al Ampe, Matt Grobert, A.K. Best, Dave Brandt, Mary Dette and Marc Petitjean. 

Bruce is a licensed NYS fishing guide, a member of Trout Unlimited, The Catskill Fly Tyers Guild, the CFFCM and the president of the Theodore Gordon Flyfishers.
